  1. In my opinion, the followings are the attributes of a good leader:
    1. Vision: A leader must have an intense vision of what the business should look like after it is fully developed.
    2. Entrepreneur: A leader should not wait for an opportunity. A leader creates his or her own opportunity.
    3. Inspires Others: A strong leader affects others and inspires them to join the quest to fulfill the vision.
    4. Sets Standards: A leader sets the standards of performance in the business.
    5. Orchestrator: A leader should not wait and pray for quality of service. He or she must set the business expectations for employees and customers.
    6. Measures Results: Knowing the results allows the leader to redirect employees if results are not on track, and to reward employees for good performance.
    I do know that I was born to lead. I always find myself in a leading position. Nevertheless, I must improve the following skills:
     Public Speaking: For some unknown reason, my ideas are not easily communicable when talking to a strange audience. I know that I need to practice public speaking more often.
    I believe the differences between a leader and manager are:
    1. Leaders have followers, managers have subordinates;
    2. Leaders bring their attention to people, managers focus on the work;
    3. Leaders seek risk, managers avoid risk;
    4. Leaders invent a job, and managers search for one;
    5. Leaders have a long term vision, managers have a sort term vision;
    6. Leaders want achievements, manager want results.

  2. Best Leadership Attributes:
    1. Personality
    I feel that a very good personality helps when trying to connect with fellow workers and ultimately makes them feel good about working with or for you. If you treat someone with respect and the way in which you wish to be treated they will always listen to you.
    2. Vision
    I feel vision is one of my best attributes, I can sometimes predict at work the next project that will come down the pipe based on customer demand and the change in technology. I feel that vision is a very important characteristic of any successful leader. If the leader cannot see where he is going, it is impossible to persuade his followers that he knows the correct path.
    3. Team Player
    I feel that I work very well with others. Working within the team to achieve a common goal that would satisfy the whole team has always been fun for me.
    4. Availability
    I feel that a good leader is available and in touch with people he works with. Also it’s very important to be available when the company or the business needs you the most.
    Leadership Skills need enhancing:
    1. Listener/Observer
    I feel that sometime this is one of my worst attributes. Sometimes I need to sit back and really listen and observe other people without commenting right away. I’ve made this a point in the past and recently have become better but still I can use some work.
    2. Supportive
    Good leaders are able to provide emotional support for those for whom they are responsible for. They recognize the importance of encouragement and inspiring confidence and also give recognition of a job well done. In this field I feel I can really be more supportive to my fellow workers and what their issues are.
    3. Clear Communication
    This goes back to being a better listener. I really need to work on my communication more; I feel that a good leader is an excellent communicator and this is one area everyone can always work on. Leadership involves communicating clearly the objectives and procedures required of a task.
