Identify the many ways you have communicated using media and technology during the course of the semester in your team/groups. Identify how anonymity, decreased emphasis on physical appearance, distance, and control over time have had an effect on your virtual communication. Respond both positively and negatively.

Define and describe how group dynamics can affect team effectiveness? And what makes a great group? Given the opportunity to select your group, how would you select and what criteria would you use for creating healthy group dynamics?

Please explain how you would tell your boss about a negative situation ensuring that the communication flows upward and not downward and should it based upon the eight communication procedures!

Week 7: Adapting to Differences: Personality, Culture, and Gender

Gender-based communicatin... Is there a difference between sex and gender? How do you define both? Should women and men communicate differently using conversational rituals? Or should they continue to use powerful and powerless language? And who should use powerful and powerless language?

Week 6: Listening and Responding

You are a business communicator and you are training a group of new employees at a customer service fim, how would you teach them to listen actively? How would you explain listening as a skill? And what would you tell them to do?

Week 5: Using Verbal and Nonverbal Messages

Think of a leader who has been bery influential in your life. Now, list some of the verbal and nonverbal communication behaviors this leader uses. What are the messages that are effective and noneffective? How does this person communicate his/her leadership using verbal and nonverbal messages?

Week 4: Collaborating in Teams

What is the difference between a group and a team? Please be specific. Which would you prefer being a part of and why? And can you work with people on a group or team that you may not like and/or disagree with? Why or why not? Please provide examples and illustrations of your response.

Week 3: Being Aware of Self and Others: Enhancing Communication and Leadership

What was the ethical challenge/issue facing Bernie Madoff and others in his empire? What would you do if you were Madoff, the media, his wife, his sons, secretary, other workers, etc.? What could have been done differently, better? Or what could have been done better to avoid the media circus? And did the time fit the crime? Why or why not!?
