Week 12
Identify the many ways you have communicated using media and technology during the course of the semester in your team/groups. Identify how anonymity, decreased emphasis on physical appearance, distance, and control over time have had an effect on your virtual communication. Respond both positively and negatively.

Well for the most part the majority of my communication in this online class was via the internet. I used Dim Dim software and many other applications on my computer to complete assignments and talk wtih students and my professor.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you do not have direct contact or conversation with people on a face to face basis, has a positive and negative effect. On the positive side you don't need to worry about appearance and looks so you can just chill while doing class work. I believe that communication is a little bit hindered depending on the people you are working with. For example, more computer savy people might communciate very well in the vitural world, whereas, someone who is not as ocmputer savy might not.
There are many different examples, but for the most part for me a virtual class room is much more convienent.
